Authorities on Tuesday arrested a 17-year-old suspect believed to be responsible for shooting and killing a 58-year-old grandmother in her San Jose home last month, according to police.
The unidentified suspect from San Jose was booked into Santa Clara County Juvenile Hall for murder in the death of Lili Santiago Hernandez, police said.
The deadly shooting happened on Jan. 19 as Hernandez was cooking with her grandchildren inside her home located along the 2400 block of Clyda Drive.
When police arrived, they found Hernandez suffering from at least one gunshot wound. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
