The San Francisco 49ers held off Seattle Seahawks’ last-minute threat Sunday and won the NFL’s regular season finale 26-21 to capture the top seed in the NFC playoffs.
Jacob Hollister was stopped by Dre Greenlaw on fourth-and-goal just inches short of the goal line in the final seconds.
San Francisco claimed its first division title since 2012 and wrapped up home-field advantage through the NFC playoffs by silencing a crowd that showed up looking for a division title and to celebrate the return of Marshawn Lynch.
The 49ers next play in the divisional playoff round at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 11 at Levi’s Stadium. That game will air on NBC.
Seattle will play Philadelphia to open the playoffs next week.
