The A’s have scheduled their 2019 FanFest for Saturday Jan. 26 at Jack London Square, a hop, skip and a Khris Davis homer away from their proposed Howard Terminal ballpark site.
Twenty players, including Gold Glove first baseman Matt Olson, and pitchers Mike Fiers and Sean Manaea, will attend, as well as old-timers Vida Blue, Rollie Fingers, Bip Roberts and Dave Stewart.
Manager Bob Melvin will be there too, passing up an awards dinner in New York where he would have accepted his American League Manager of the Year trophy.
The event, which runs from 9:30 a.m. until 2 p.m., is free and features 10 food trucks giving away their treats, the popular question-and-answer sessions with players and management and a Ballpark Experience area where fans can get more details about the proposed ballpark and development project planned for the Coliseum site.
The A’s also promise special activates for kids.
Fans are encouraged to line Water Street, near Scott’s Seafood, for a 9:45 a.m. “welcome walk.”
The A’s have posted their FanFest news release on their website. It has more details on activities and players attending.
