Ayesha Curry became the latest public figure to bid farewell to Oracle Arena after Game 6 of the 2019 NBA Finals.
“We’ve spent the past 10 yrs at Oracle,” she wrote in a lengthy Instagram post. “Took our ‘save the date’ photos there (lol), brought all of our children to their first games there. Laughed, cried, celebrated, you name it. We ‘grew up’ together there.”
The Currys were married in 2011, but Ayesha had been dating Stephen since his days playing college basketball at Davidson, and was present when her husband played his first season at Oracle Arena in 2009.
“We will never forget our decade at Oracle,” she continued. “Thank you Dub Nation for loving us, embracing us and always cheering and rooting for my husband no matter what. On and off the court. The warriors are something special.
“Best part? They’re just getting started. Time to make new memories with the best fans in the world !!! ROARACLE will ALWAYS have a special place in our hearts. I Love you @stephencurry30 and am infinitely proud of you.”
The Curry family will likely have to move out of their East Bay residence and find housing in the city to make Steph’s commute to the Chase Center easier.
“That what I’m trying to figure out. Our family’s rooted in the East Bay,” Curry said on his YouTube show in April.
Ayesha later said the family is looking for a new home, but like many families searching for housing in the city, the Currys have been taken aback by the astronomical home prices.
“We’re searching, we’re on the hunt,” Ayesha said. “I’ll tell you what though, San Francisco, we’ve had some sticker shock here.”
