If you need more evidence that the Warriors are literally limping to the end of their fifth straight NBA Finals run then check out center DeMarcus Cousins’ latest Instagram story.
In a photo from the airport posted late Tuesday night, “healthy” Warriors Cousins and Andre Iguodala can be seen in wheelchairs getting pushed through a terminal at the Toronto Airport.
“@Andre you good?” Cousins captioned the late-night post before the team’s six-hour flight home for Game 3 at Oracle.
Over the course of the week, Cousins has gone from recovering from a quadriceps tear to starting in an NBA Finals game. Cousins put up 12 points, 10 rebounds and six assists in 28 minutes Sunday, nearly matching his minutes played in the entire postseason to date.
Iguodala, who hit the key three-pointer that all but sealed the game for the Warriors, briefly left Sunday’s game after a collision on the court. He was noticeably limping during Game 1 as well, with some apparent calf discomfort. It’s not immediately clear why either needed assistance boarding the plane, but the team has not raised any concerns about their future availability.
Those bangs and bruises are likely of less concern to the Warriors than the other injuries sustained in Game 2. The Warriors lost big man Kevon Looney after a hard fall and then saw Klay Thompson sit out most of the fourth quarter after tweaking his hamstring. The team was evaluating the severity of those injuries on Monday.
