The two-time NBA MVP, Warriors player-development consultant and Santa Clara alum will take on an expanded role in his second year with Turner Sports, contributing to NBA coverage. The network announced Tuesday that Nash is returning to Champions League telecasts on TNT and B/R Live. He’ll also be a contributor to TNT’s NBA coverage when the season begins in October. “Basketball continues to be near and dear to me,” Nash said during a phone interview. Nash was mainly a studio analyst for Champions League last year, but he’ll now do more features.
The Connecticut Sun have traded the rookie and Cal alum to the Dallas Wings for Theresa Plaisance. Anigwe, a 6-foot-4 forward/center drafted ninth overall after being named the Pac-12’s Defensive Player of the Year, has averaged two points and 1.8 rebounds in 17 games with the Sun. Plaisance, who’s 6-5, has averaged six points and 4.4 rebounds in 22 games this season for Dallas. She has hit 23 3-pointers this season, second for a center behind the Sun’s Jonquel Jones (31). Connecticut has the best record in the WNBA at 16-6. Dallas is 6-16.
