Drake shoulder-rub bibs handed out ahead of NBA Finals Game 2

A Toronto-based branch of a Canadian pizza franchise is promoting its store by commemorating the shoulder rub felt across the NBA ahead of Game 2 of the NBA Finals between the Toronto Raptors and the Golden State Warriors.

Boston Pizza, which is headquartered in Canada, is giving out bibs that celebrate the moment during the Toronto Raptors’ Game 4 Eastern Conference finals win over the Milwaukee Bucks when Drake gave a brief, but bold, shoulder massage to Raptors head coach Nick Nurse.

“Introducing #BPMassageBib. We were inspired when @Drake started massaging Coach Nurse during the last game so we took it upon ourselves to bring that special moment to life,” reads a tweet from Thursday on the pizza chain’s Twitter page.

The pizza chain gave out the bibs, which Raptors fans, or anyone who’s a fan of spontaneous, non-consensual massages, can wear around their necks. The lower part of the bib looks like the suit that Nurse wore for that game. On the shoulders of the “suit” part of the bib, there are two light brown hands.

Of course, Boston Pizza appended their logo to the lapel of the “suit” part of the bib. And just like that, Drake, who once famously bragged about “things I could do with lotion,” and his magic hands went down in the annals of sports memorabilia history.

Boston Pizza was handing the bibs out at their store at Front and John in Toronto ahead of Game 1 on Thursday and, according to Sean Fitz-Gerald of The Athletic, they were handing out the bibs at Scotiabank Arena on Thursday and ahead of Game 2 of the NBA Finals.

“Yes, it’s an ad, but it’s clever enough to have grown on me: They are handing out Drake shoulder-rub bibs outside Scotiabank Arena again,” Fitz-Gerald wrote on Twitter.

Drake rubbed Nurse’s shoulders again after the Raptors won the Eastern Conference Finals, but who knows if he’ll do it again during a game. His shoulder rub sent waves through the NBA, with even NBA Commissioner Adam Silver speaking about it.

Nurse, his personal masseuse and the Raptors will take on the Warriors in Game 2 of the NBA Finals on Sunday at 5 p.m. PST/8 p.m. EST.
