A female sports reporter has accused new Sacramento Kings coach Luke Walton of sexual assault in a lawsuit.
Citing legal documents, TMZ reported Monday night that Kelli Tennant is suing Walton, who was a Warriors assistant coach at the time of the alleged incident. TMZ reported that Tennant claims she went to Walton’s hotel room to discuss a book she was writing when Walton pinned her to the bed, forcibly kissed her and groped her.
The incident allegedly happened before Walton became coach of the Lakers in 2016 and while Tennant worked for Sportsnet LA. No date was given for the alleged assault.
The Warriors released this statement Monday night: “We became aware of the alleged incident and story this evening and are in the process of seeking more information. We’ll have no further comment at this time.”
The Los Angeles Times reported that Tennant’s lawyer declined to say whether she reported the alleged assault to police.
Walton was let go by the Lakers earlier this month and hired by the Kings.

The Kings say they are aware of the report and gathering additional information. The team had no other comment.
Bucks 127, Pistons 104: Giannis Antetokounmpo scored 41 points and his visiting Milwaukee team completed a four-game sweep of Detroit, advancing to the second round of the playoffs for the first time since 2001. Milwaukee closed the third quarter with a 17-3 run, taking a 10-point lead into the fourth after the Pistons had led much of the way. Detroit set an NBA record with its 14th consecutive playoff loss, a skid that began in 2008. The Bucks will face Boston in the second round. The Celtics are coming off a sweep of their own against Indiana. Reggie Jackson scored 20 of his 26 points in the first half for Detroit. Blake Griffin fouled out with 7:06 remaining after scoring 22.
