Crews are battling a vegetation fire that sparked Wednesday morning on the right shoulder of I-680 southwest of Fairfield.
The fire started after 10 a.m. and spread west, causing Lopes Road to be shut down in the area. It’s closed just west of Marshview Road.
At last check, the fire was 80 acres.
Fire and smoke are not impacting the freeway.
