Former Starbucks Chief Executive Officer Howard Shultz hinted at the idea that he may run for president as an independent candidate.
Speaking to a sold out crowd at the Jewish Community Center of San Francisco Friday, Shultz said that there could be a possibility he will add his name to a growing list of candidates.
“I want to see if I can ignite a national movement to restructure and disrupt political system that is not based on the will of the people,” Shultz said.
If Shultz decides to run, he would join New Jersey Senator Cory Booker who announced Friday that he is running.
NBC Bay Area political analyst Larry Gerston expects the list of candidates to grow.
“This is the natural roll out if you will of the party out of power and you saw the reverse in 2016 when there were 17 candidates in first debate,” Gerston said.
