Baseball: The Toronto Blue Jays acquired left-hander Clayton Richard and cash considerations from the San Diego Padres for minor-league outfielder Connor Panas. Richard, 35, was 7-11 with a 5.33 ERA for San Diego in ’18.
•Former A’s right-hander Ryan Cook agreed to a one-year deal with the Yomiuri Giants in Japan, the Japan Times reported. Cook, a 2012 All-Star with Oakland, was 2-1 with a 5.29 ERA in 19 games with the Mariners in 2018.
Soccer: Paul Pogba had two goals and an assist as host Manchester United beat Bournemouth 4-1 in English Premier League play. In other EPL matches, Manchester City defeated Southampton 3-1 to end a two-game slide and Chelsea downed Crystal Palace 1-0.
