Holy cow, Stephen Curry has needed contacts this entire time

All this time, one of the greatest shooters in NBA history has been playing with blurry vision.

Stephen Curry, who holds so many NBA records he has an entire Wikipedia page dedicated to them, told The Athletic this week that he just — just! — started wearing contacts for his blurry vision.

“I had gotten so used to squinting for so long,” he told Marcus Thompson II. “It was just normal.”

According to The Athletic, Curry recently learned he has an astigmatism, which makes his vision blurred. Since popping in contacts, Curry, like millions of struggling students who can suddenly see the chalkboard, had had the joy of crystal-clear vision.

“It’s like the whole world has opened up,” he glowed.

The addition of contact lenses seems to correlate with Curry’s recent hot streak. He was stuck in a bit of a slump from February until early March, but, as of late, has been looking like his usual, efficient self. As Bleacher Report notes, in the last nine games he’s shot 48.7 percent from the three-point line.
