After ending a streak of four straight NBA Finals appearances against the Warriors, Cavaliers big man Kevin Love is apparently missing some of the media attention that comes with actually making the Finals.
Love stepped back into the media spotlight on Tuesday, returning fire on a recent jab from Warriors guard Stephen Curry.
In a piece that dropped on ESPN.com on Saturday, Curry lamented the Warriors’ 2016 Finals loss to the Cavaliers, and in particular called out this sequence against Love, which the Dubs star wish he played differently:
“I look back and think I could have easily gone around [Love] and gotten a 2, and we could have gotten a stop, and then I could come back down and hit another shot, and we win another championship, instead of me going for the hero shot, which I felt like I could make,” Curry told ESPN’s Jackie MacMullan in reference to a missed three late in Game 7 against Love that very easily could’ve swung the deciding game.
Love responded with a zing of his own on Tuesday, sarcastically calling attention to the word “easily.”
Curry and the Warriors will try to “easily” take a 2-1 lead in the NBA Finals Wednesday night. Tipoff is set for 6 p.m. PDT at Oracle Arena.
