Male suspect sought in sexual assault at Stanford

A woman was sexually assaulted on the campus of Stanford University around 1 a.m. Thursday, Stanford police said in an alert sent to the campus community on Saturday.

She was near the 600 block of Escondido Road when a 6-foot-tall male restrained her, then touched her breasts and buttocks as she repeatedly protested. Police said the woman knows the assailant and that he is 21 years old.

The incident is still under investigation. Anyone with any information about the crime is encouraged to call the police at 650-329-2413.
