An El Dorado Hills woman who has been missing since Valentine’s Day was found dead, the El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office said Wednesday.
Brooke Harris, 48, was found around 4:30 p.m. in a vehicle at a local church parking lot, the Sheriff’s Office said.
Next of kin has been notified. The cause of death is under investigation, but the Sheriff’s Office said there is no evidence of foul play.
No other details were released.
Harris was last seen at Red Hawk Casino in Placerville on Feb. 14. Her phone was later found in her home.
“We located video surveillance at Red Hawk security in the parking structure on the 14th at about 4:30 p.m.,” said Sgt. Anthony Prencipe, an El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson.
He said the video shows “her apparently alone in her vehicle at the casino.”
Precipe said there is no video evidence that Harris ever entered the casino. Her daughter last saw Harris the night of Feb. 13, Prencipe said. Harris spoke on the phone with her husband the next day, before she disappeared. There are no signs of any criminal activity.
Harris previously worked as a registered nurse.
