No. 2 Louisville women top No. 3 UConn

Asia Durr scored 14 of her 24 points in the second quarter, Dana Evans added 20 points and No. 3 Louisville beat No. 2 UConn 78-69 on Thursday.

The host Cardinals (20-1) had lost 17 straight to the Huskies (18-2).

Napheesa Collier had 20 points for UConn.

“We made a lot of mistakes tonight defensively, and they took advantage of every one of them,” UConn head coach Geno Auriemma said. “Every time we made a mistake tonight, they got a bucket, and that’s a credit to them.”

#5 Notre Dame 101, Clemson 63: Arike Ogunbowale scored 23 points, Marina Mabrey had 22 and the visiting Irish (20-2, 7-1) took control early with an 18-0 run against the Tigers (14-7, 5-3).

#6 Mississippi State 68, LSU 35: Andra Espinoza-Hunter had 16 points and the visiting Bulldogs (20-1, 8-0 SEC) built a 25-point halftime lead in their win over the Tigers (12-8, 3-5).

#7 N.C. State 59, Wake Forest 50: Kiara Leslie scored 23 points to lead the visiting Wolfpack (21-0, 8-0 ACC) past the Demon Deacons (10-11, 1-7).

#15 Gonzaga 63, Pacific 51: Laura Stockton scored 15 points and the visiting Bulldogs (20-2, 9-1) defeated the Tigers (13-7, 6-4).

LMU 61, #25 BYU 58: Jasmine Jones, who scored 21 points, hit a go-ahead free throw with eight seconds left and the host Lions (12-10, 5-5 WCC) beat the Cougars (17-4, 9-1).

St. Mary’s 113, Portland 85: Megan McKay scored 26 points, going 11-for-11 from the floor with 11 rebounds, and the host Gaels (14-7, 7-3 WCC) shot 63 percent from the field against the Pilots (10-11, 2-8).

Men

#13 Houston 73, Temple 66: Corey Davis Jr. scored 24 points and DeJon Jarreau added 14 points and 12 rebounds as the host Cougars (21-1, 8-1 American Athletic) defeated the Owls (15-6, 5-3).

#17 Purdue 99, Penn State 90: Carsen Edwards, who scored 38 points, had a four-point play in overtime to help the Boilermakers (15-6, 7-2 Big Ten) top the host Nittany Lions (7-14, 0-10).

Pac-12: Remy Martin scored eight of his 31 points in overtime to lead host Arizona State (15-6, 6-3) to a 95-88 win over Arizona (14-8, 5-4). … Stephen Thompson Jr. scored 21 points and Tres Tinkle had 19 points and eight rebounds for visiting Oregon State (13-7, 5-3) in a 76-74 win over Colorado (11-9, 2-6). … Will Richardson scored 19 points for Oregon (13-8, 4-4), a 78-72 winner at Utah (11-9, 5-3).
