It still isn’t clear if Toronto rapper Drake will be at Game 3 of the NBA Finals, but it’s probably for the best he wasn’t anywhere to be seen during pregame warmups.
While a handful of Warriors players were getting some shots up about an hour before the game, Oracle Arena played “The Story of Adidon,” a diss track from rapper Pusha T directed at Drake.
A feud between Drake and Pusha T exploded in 2018 when Pusha T accused Drake of using ghostwriters on his tracks.
“The Story of Adidon” was a diss track that came out in May 2018, and depicts Drake in blackface on the song’s official artwork.
Some of the shots Pusha T fires at Drake on the track include, “Drug dealin’ aside, ghostwritin’ aside /
Let’s have a heart-to-heart about your pride,” and, “Let’s examine why your music for the past few years been angry and full of lies.”
Obviously, there are more, um, colorful lines in the track that can be read and analyzed here.
The Warriors have kept Drake on his heels ever since the team stole Game 2 in Toronto. After the game, Kevin Durant and Klay Thompson confronted Drake while he was leaving the arena and gave the heckler a taste of his own medicine.
“We’ll see you in the Bay, Aubrey,” Klay yelled out. “You weren’t talking tonight, were ya?”
“It’s alright, it’s OK,” Durant yelled as Drake stood behind a wall. “Keep your head up.”
In addition, a sign was spotted at Oracle Arena that shames the rapper for not donating to a food bank charity for the Finals.
Game 3 tips off at 6 p.m. PT.
