Raiders' Carr Would Love to Play With Antonio Brown

Antonio Brown has burned his bridges in Pittsburgh, but that doesn’t bother Derek Carr one iota.

The Raiders quarterback says he and his teammates would love to play with one of the NFL’s best wide receivers, and what went on in Pittsburgh – where Brown feuded with his coach and quarterback – isn’t cause for concern.

The Raiders reportedly are one of several teams talking to the Steelers about trading for Brown.

“I would imagine he’s definitely in play,” Carr said at an event in Fresno this past weekend, the Fresno Bee reported. “I hope he’s in play. It would be great to add a guy like that to your team, talent like that. I don’t know what it’s going to cost. The contract stuff starts getting in the way and they got to figure out numbers and all that kind of stuff. I don’t really like the business side of football, but I just like adding good players to our football team.

“If it works out in the business side, I know the locker room will be arms wide open to accepting Antonio.”

The Raiders need an elite-level wideout, and Brown fits that bill. Last season he caught 104 passes for 1,297 yards and a league-high 15 touchdowns. At 30, he has six straight seasons of more than 1,200 receiving yards.

According to a report by NFL.com Wednesday, the Steelers have told teams Brown will be traded soon, so teams need “to give their best offers ASAP.”

Ian Rapoport of NFL.com wrote, “The Raiders have been the one team consistently linked to Brown rumors.”
