All good things must come to an end, but Stephen Curry’s iconic pregame tunnel shots at Oracle Arena probably deserved a better finale.
The Warriors star usually shoots from the entrance of the tunnel leading back to the team’s locker room, and has a surprisingly high success rate since the basket is directly adjacent from the tunnel.
But for Game 6 of the 2019 NBA Finals, the Toronto Raptors chose to use the basket near the tunnel for their pregame warmups, which is allowed by NBA rules, forcing Curry to attempt a full-court shot on the arena’s other basket to close out his warmup routine.
Curry launched the ball with one hand to the other side of the court and air-balled his final pregame tunnel shot at Oracle Arena.
The Chronicle reported last month the configuration of the Chase Center in San Francisco will prevent Curry from attempting a similar shot, meaning this was perhaps his final pregame tunnel shot before a home game ever.
Earlier this week, a pair of courtside seats near the spot where Curry took the shot were available for $48,422 plus fees, each, for a total of $112,823.
