For the second year in a row, Mac Williamson has been called up to the big leagues after an impressive start in the minor leagues.
NBC Sports Bay Area reports that Williamson will be on the roster when the San Francisco Giants take on the Colorado Rockies in Denver on Tuesday. He is on a tear this year in Triple A Sacramento, with a .378 batting average, nine home runs and 22 runs batted in.
He hit three home runs for the River Cats on Monday night.
It is a dramatic turnaround for Williamson, who also played for the Giants after impressive start in the minors in 2018. However, shortly after being called up, the right fielder tripped over a bullpen pitching mound trying to catch a foul ball and incurred a concussion.
He never regained his form after the accident. This year, Williamson was designated for assignment after spring training and ended up back in Sacramento.
