A San Jose police officer was injured in a car crash while on duty early Wednesday morning, authorities said.
Shortly before 2 a.m., an officer driving a marked police car collided with another vehicle at the intersection of Tully and King roads in San Jose, police said. The officer was taken to a hospital, while the man driving the other vehicle stayed at the scene and cooperated with authorities.
The other driver received a citation for a red light violation. Police do not suspect drugs or alcohol were involved in the collision.
The officer has been released from the hospital and there were no other injuries, officials said.
