Six-time All-Star Rick Nash announces retirement

Rick Nash, a six-time All-Star and three-time Olympian, announced his retirement Friday because of symptoms related to a concussion he suffered in March.

Nash, 34, scored 21 goals for the Rangers and Boston in 2017-18 and had 437 goals in 15 NHL seasons between Columbus, the Rangers and Boston.

Nash won gold medals playing for Canada at the 2010 and 2014 Olympics.

•Pittsburgh goalie Casey DeSmith, who is 12-7-4 with a 2.47 goals-against average, agreed to a three-year contract extension through the 2021-22 season.

•Tampa Bay acquired defenseman Jan Rutta from Chicago for defenseman Slater Koekkoek.
