Student Allegedly Assaulted at High School in Alameda

A student was allegedly assaulted Friday morning on campus at a high school in Alameda, according to the school district’s spokesperson.

Alameda Unified School District spokesperson Susan Davis said a suspect who assaulted a student at Island High School on Pacific Avenue has not been caught, and the school was placed on a lockdown.

The lockdown, which also affected neighboring schools, was later lifted and classes resumed as normal but the suspect is still at large, Davis said.

The details of the assault has not been released.

No other information was immediately available.
