Tim Cook decided to humor the internet on Thursday by changing his name to “Tim Apple,” a day after President Donald Trump got the Apple CEO’s name wrong.
Cook was meeting with the American Workforce Policy Advisory Board at the White House on Wednesday to discuss technology in education.
Cook talked about the importance of teaching children coding in classrooms.
“We believe strongly that it should be a requirement in the United States for every kid to have coding before they graduate from K-12” and “to become somewhat proficient at it,” Cook said.
He also brought up the fact that Apple was founded by a college dropout.
“We have so many companies coming in. People like Tim, you’re expanding all over and doing things that I really wanted you to right from the beginning. I used to say, ‘Tim, you’ve got to start doing it over here,’ and you really have. I mean, you’ve really put a big investment in our country. We appreciate it very much, Tim Apple.”
Of course the Internet immediately decided to have some fun with it by assigning names to other tech CEOs: Jeff Amazon, Elon Tesla, Mark Facebook, Jack Twitter, etc.
Trump has also called Jeff Bezos, “Jeff Bozo” in the past.
He has also assigned nicknames to Sen. Elizabeth Warren, former U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and Sen. Bernie Sanders.
Trump also called Lockheed Martin CEO Marillyn Lockheed last year. Her name is Marillyn Hewson.
However, “Tim Apple” was probably a mistake, but the internet had some fun anyway.
