At least one person is dead after a big rig crashed through a guard rail on I-80 in San Pablo Monday morning, according to KCBS Radio.

Two right lanes on eastbound I-80 between San Pablo Dam Road and El Portal Drive are entirely blocked and as a result, traffic is backed up for at least a mile. There is no estimated time for when these lanes will reopen.

Westbound traffic has also stalled in this area and traffic is backed up for about a half mile.

The incident was first reported around 5 a.m. on the freeway just west of El Portal Drive and is blocking the No. 3 and 4 lanes, according to the California Highway Patrol.
