USC women use game-ending run to beat Cal 86-76

Looking to make a statement after three consecutive losses to top-10 teams, the Cal women collapsed in the closing minutes at USC.

Aliyah Mazyck scored 28 points, Minyon Moore added 27 — both season highs — and the Trojans used a game-ending run to beat Cal 86-76 on Friday night.

USC (15-9, 5-8 Pac-12) trailed 74-73 before outscoring the Bears (14-10, 5-8) 13-2 in the final 3:20, with seven points from Moore.

Cal’s Kristine Anigwe scored 30 points with 14 rebounds, her 25th consecutive double-double and fifth 30-point game this season. Recee’ Caldwell added 15 points for the Bears, who came in with losses to Stanford, Oregon and Oregon State.

#3 Oregon 77, #9 Oregon St. 68: Former Miramonte-Orinda player Sabrina Ionescu had 29 points and nine assists, and the host Ducks won their 17th straight win. Ruthy Hebard added 21 points and 11 rebounds for the Ducks (24-1, 13-0 Pac-12), who have the longest active winning streak in the nation. Oregon improved to 6-0 against ranked teams this season. Destiny Slocum had 19 points for the Beavers, (20-5, 10-3), who pulled to 64-60 on Slocum’s jumper with 5:20 left but it was as close as they could get.

#19 Arizona St. 66, Colorado 49: Kianna Ibis scored 18 points with nine rebounds and the host Sun Devils (17-6, 8-4 Pac-12) beat the Buffaloes (11-13, 1-12).

St. John’s 81, #8 Marquette 74: Tiana England scored 20 points and the host Red Storm (13-12, 6-8 Big East) came back from 14 points down to post their first victory over a top-10 team in nearly seven years. Erika Davenport had 24 points and 13 rebounds to lead the Golden Eagles (21-4, 12-1).

MEN

#25 Buffalo 88, Toledo 82: Nick Perkins matched his career high with 26 points — hitting four 3-pointers in the second half — to lift the visiting Bulls (22-3, 10-2 Mid-American).
