Warriors fans spent all of Christmas Day roasting the Rockets, James Harden on Twitter

The Golden State Warriors roasted the Houston Rockets on Christmas Day in San Francisco, stuffing their stocking with a 116-104 win — the Dubs’ first over an above .500 team this season.

Fans then took to Twitter to hilariously continue the roast with allllll the memes (really, there were a lot, all preserved for posterity’s sake in the gallery above).

The victory was the Warriors’ third straight and, crazily enough, pulled them to within just 6.5 games of a playoff berth (yes, really) in what has thus far been a tank season. Golden State has been dealt injury blow after injury blow to deplete the roster to eight healthy bodies for several games at a time.

The Warriors were 5-24 just four games ago, but have strung together their first back-to-back and now back-to-back-to-back W’s to bring their season mark to 8-24. At this point last season Golden State was 21-11.

Rockets All-Star James Harden was held to just 9-of-18 from the field and didn’t make a single free throw (and only attempted one) in 38 minutes of play — the most minutes he’s played without a made free throw in his career. He was also held under 25 points for just the third time this season, as the Warriors regularly trapped Harden at midcourt to get the ball out of his hands.

“It’s nothing we ain’t used to,” Houston guard Russell Westbrook told the Houston Chronicle following the loss. “We missed our shots, so it worked. Move on to the next one. Good luck though trying to do that.”

The Warriors will try to make it four straight in the win column on Friday when they host the Phoenix Suns (11-19). Tip-off is set for 7:30 p.m.
