Warriors now underdogs to win NBA Finals for first time in 3 years

The Warriors have not been underdogs to win it all since Zaza Pachulia was on the roster, but they will enter Friday night’s NBA Finals Game 4 looking over at the favored Toronto Raptors.

The Warriors were facing lines in the -105 to +105 range on various websites as of Friday afternoon, meaning it’s a near even-money bet that they will claim the Larry O’Brien Trophy. The Toronto Raptors are closer to -125 on most websites, meaning you would have to bet $125 to win $100. That’s a significant, though not prohibitive, edge in the gambling world.

According to ESPN, this is the first time since 2016 that Golden State has been the underdog on the NBA Finals “futures” line, the odds for eventually winning the championship.

With Klay Thompson returning from injury, the Warriors are actually listed by many sites as 4.5-point favorites to win Game 4 at Oracle Arena Friday night. With only four potential games remaining, the Raptors only need to win their remaining home games to claim their first NBA Championship.

Friday night’s game tips off at 6 p.m. PDT.
