Where was Obama on Presidents' Day? Ayesha Curry's S.F. restaurant

Former President Barack Obama was in San Francisco for Presidents’ Day.

The 44th President of the United States had dinner on Feb. 18 at International Smoke, the high-end barbecue spot owned by celebrity chef Michael Minna and Ayesha Curry, lifestyle guru and wife of Warriors star Stephen.

Minna shared an image on Instagram of himself with the Currys and Obama in the restaurant and wrote, “No greater privilege than to cook for this man on Presidents’ Day. Thank you for the highest honor.”

Obama is in town for a three-day national convention in Oakland hosted by his My Brother’s Keeper Alliance that aims to “bring together hundreds of young men of color.” Taking place Feb. 18 to 20, panels and breakout sessions will focus on ways to “reduce youth violence, grow impactful mentorship programs, and improve life outcomes for boys and young men of color.”

The main stage sessions will also be streamed live on Obama.org. The times of livestreams are as follows:

Tuesday, Feb. 19, 3 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Wednesday, Feb. 20, 9:30 a.m. – 11 a.m.
Wednesday, Feb. 20, 3:30 p.m. – 5 p.m.

My Brother’s Keeper Alliance was founded by Obama after the killing of Trayvon Martin. Curry has been involved in My Brother’s Keeper Alliance events before. He’s appeared in two PSAs for the alliance, and in 2018, he wore a special Under Armour shoe to raise money for the organization.
