Keith Hernandez isn’t just one of the greatest hitters of the 1980s — he’s also an iconic sitcom star.

The former Mets first baseman (who was born in San Francisco and went to high school in Pacifica) made a number of appearances on “Seinfeld,” perhaps becoming even more famous for his cameo than anything he did on the diamond.

For the famous Bay Area athletes in the slideshow above — which includes everyone from Marshawn Lynch and Joe Montana to Steph Curry and Steve Young — their performance in front of the television camera didn’t quite live up to their performance on the field.
