A Raptors fan apparently set off fireworks outside the Warriors hotel at 3 a.m.

A misguided Toronto Raptors fan reportedly set off fireworks outside of the Warriors’ team hotel at 3 a.m. in an attempt to rouse the team from its pre-NBA Finals slumber.

Video posted on Instagram shows a Raptors fan setting up a row of fireworks in front of the St. Regis Toronto, where the Golden State Warriors are staying. After igniting them, the fan jumps into a car and drives off as a series of loud pops can be heard in the background.

Besides being incredibly childish, the move also may backfire: According to a number of fans on the Toronto Raptors subreddit, Raptors center Serge Ibaka lives in the building as well.

“Cmon we are Canada. Show class. Show sportsmanship,” one Redditor wrote. “I’m a die hard raptors fan and I really hate the warriors but the game is played on the court. You have to realize that at the end of the day these players are humans.”

ALSOKlay Thompson had the perfect answer for if he’s avoiding Drake songs right now

The sabotage effort also failed to take into account one critical fact: It’s not the night’s sleep that’s crucial for Klay Thompson. He’s a pregame nap man.

“If I don’t have a gameday nap you might as well chalk it up as a loss for me,” Thompson said in 2017. “I have to have my gameday nap just to get my mind right, get a little rest, maximize your energy for the game.”

So unless that Raptors fan can find Klay during his pregame nap, his whole fireworks escapade was in vain.
