When Ayesha and Stephen Curry schedule date night, they’ve got a go-to restaurant — and it probably won’t surprise you who helms it.
Ayesha Curry appeared on an episode of the Girlboss Radio with Sophia Amoruso podcast this week, and when asked to pick her favorite restaurant — that wasn’t her own International Smoke spot — she had a related answer.
“Michael Mina, he’s my mentor. Whenever we go on a date night or whatever, we go to his flagship Michael Mina restaurant in San Fran,” she said. “He’s a two Michelin star chef. He’s known for doing trios. So he’ll take one of the same thing and do it three different ways on the same plate. It’s really special.”
Her favorite order at the California Street restaurant, which the Michelin Guide says “showcases Middle Eastern flavors and incorporates classic ingredients,” is the tuna tower.
Curry, of course, partners with Mina at International Smoke. The pair have locations in the Financial District, Houston, Aventura, Fla., and will open another soon in San Diego.
Along with talking entrepreneurship and her many lifestyle and entertainment ventures, Curry opened up about the difficulties of balancing work and life with an equally busy husband.
“You get wrapped up in the kids and work, so we try really hard to actually schedule our date nights and stick to them, no matter how hard we’re being nudged in another direction,” she said.
“We’re big on staycations, even if it’s us hiring a sitter for the night and locking ourselves in our bedroom,” she added. “Even though most of the time we just end up watching Netflix. It is what it is.”
