A person hit by a BART train Monday morning closed the El Cerrito del Norte and Richmond stations, causing delays in all directions, officials said.
As of 8:30 a.m., the El Cerrito del Norte station remained closed but Richmond had reopened.
Around 7:40 a.m., officials reported that a Warm Springs-bound train hit a person at the El Cerrito del Norte station.
“We are expecting major delays to develop along the Richmond line due to this incident,” BART spokesman Chris Filippi said.
Around 8:30 a.m., the Richmond BART station was reopened and trains were single-tracking between the El Cerrito Plaza and Richmond stations.
Impacted passengers can use the 72M and 72R AC Transit buses to get between Richmond and El Cerrito Plaza stations.
