Damian Lillard’s neon green shoes cause a stir on Twitter during Game 2

Portland Trail Blazers point guard Damian Lillard decided to wear a nauseatingly bright pair of florescent green shoes to Game 2 of the Western Conference Finals, and a number of Twitter users were blinded by the light.

“Damian Lillard’s shoes made me switch channels,” one user wrote.

“You can probably see Damian Lillard’s shoes from the International Space Station,” wrote another.

The shoes appear to be the Adidas Dame 5 that Lillard wore during the 2019 McDonald’s All-American Powerade Jam Fest complete with black strips on the back of the shoes that say, “Jam Fest.”

While Lillard’s decision to wear neon green shoes with a red jersey and red pair of shorts seems, uh, unconventional, this is actually not the first time he’s done it.

Last fall, the league actually asked him to stop wearing shoes that don’t match the uniforms he’s wearing.

“Even though I get a little uncomfortable when the colors get too crazy, and go away from the color of the uniform I’m wearing,” Lillard told The Undefeated in September. “I haven’t been fined, but I’ve been warned.”
