Any Los Angeles Dodgers fans attending the team’s games against the Boston Red Sox at Fenway Park this weekend probably want to avoid a certain Boston sports bar.
Game On Fenway (which is located just outside the park) put up a sign in one of their windows that reads, “Hey LA: In case you forgot, this is what the World Series Trophy look like.”
The sign contains an image of the Red Sox holding up the Commissioner’s Trophy after defeating the Dodgers during the 2018 World Series.
Los Angeles Times reporter Jorge Castillo tweeted a photo of the sign with the caption, “That ain’t right.”
The Dodgers have been knocked out of the postseason by the eventual World Series champion in three consecutive seasons.
In 2016, they held a 2-1 series lead over the Chicago Cubs in the NLCS, but were eliminated after the Cubs won three straight games. Chicago ultimately defeated the Cleveland Indians in the World Series for their first title in 108 years.
In 2017, the Dodgers got past the Cubs in the NLCS and took the Houston Astros to seven games in the World Series, but were defeated 5-1 in Game 7 to come up short once again.
The Dodgers made their second consecutive World Series appearance last season, but were quickly dispatched by the Red Sox in five games.
Los Angeles is currently leading the MLB in wins at 60, but the team is currently on a four-game losing streak that includes an 8-1 beatdown at the hands of the Red Sox on Friday night.
