Draymond rips ‘soft’ people for overreacting to Drake trash talk

Draymond Green wants you to know there is no actual feud between him and Toronto rapper Drake.

The two were seen exchanging words after Game 1 of the NBA Finals Thursday night, and Green later said it’s “fun” to have the rapper sitting courtside.

NBC Sports Bay Area reported that the two dined on Friday night along with Green’s teammate Alfonzo McKinnie and an “extended party.”

“We was talking s—,” Green told NBC Sports Bay Area of what was said after Game 1. “And we live in a day and age where people — we live in a soft-ass world to where everything is a problem, and everything is a major issue.”

Green has been friends with the rapper for years, and believes people are overreacting to good-natured trash talk.

“That’s the world we live in today, and so when someone sees people talking s— to each other, it’s like, ‘Oh my God, they hate each other,’ but it’s the typical overreaction into everything that’s overreacted to in today’s day and age,” he said.

On Friday, Green filmed himself walking through Toronto wearing a hoodie with the logo of Drake’s October’s Very Own company on it, a move that was seen by some as an escalation of a personal feud.

Green says it’s all in good fun, and defended Drake from criticism that he’s too exuberant while sitting courtside.

“He’s a fan. He talks, and it gets more attention because he’s Drake,” Green told reporters Friday. “So many people are complaining about it, like, ‘You don’t let any other fan do that.’ Yeah, any other fan is just not Drake, so they probably shouldn’t be able to do that. That’s just kind of how the cookie crumbles.”

Game 2 of the NBA Finals begins Sunday night at 5 p.m. Pacific Time.
