Former Golden State Warriors center JaVale McGee was robbed of at least $200,000 in cash and jewelry as well as one of his championship rings, TMZ Sports reported Tuesday.
McGee, who was with the Warriors from 2016-18, had his Los Angeles-area home robbed on Saturday, but reportedly didn’t realize it until Tuesday.
According to TMZ, the thieves stole two safes from McGee’s home that contained his valuables. The center — now with the Los Angeles Lakers — won championship rings with the Warriors in 2017 and 2018. It isn’t clear which ring was stolen.
A pair of goggles McGee wore in the locker room for the team’s champagne celebration was also reported to be stolen, and law enforcement is reviewing home surveillance footage.
No arrests have been made.
This story is developing and will be updated as more information is made available.
