Every day, there’s at least one new rumor about Kevin Durant‘s free agency.
There was the report he was “really pissed off” at the Warriors over how they handled his return from injury in the NBA Finals. Then there was the conflicting report that “everything is still on the table” for him.
There were reports Kyrie Irving was “pressing” him to sign with the Brooklyn Nets, and then came the report he’s discussing teaming up with Kawhi Leonard on either the Los Angeles Clippers or New York Knicks.
Durant’s free agency has been the source of rampant speculation, conflicting reports and player exasperation throughout the season, and Durant himself has lashed out at the reporting around his free agency.
“I’m trying to play basketball,” he said in February. “You come in here every day and ask me about free agency, ask my teammates, my coaches, you rile up the fans about it. Let us play basketball, that’s all I’m saying… I don’t trust none of you all. Every time I say something, you try to twist it up.”
Since the NBA’s annual rumor merry-go-round during early stages of free agency can be quite dizzying, it’s often best to focus on what the players themselves have said about their respective free agencies.

Players are officially allowed to negotiate with teams at 3 p.m. PT Sunday.
