Here’s everything Steve Kerr has said about Kevin Durant’s injury since the start of the Finals

Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr said Friday that he will not give any additional updates on Kevin Durant’s recovery from a calf strain beyond his status for each individual game.

“We’re hoping he can play Game 5 or 6,” Kerr said. “And everything in between, I’ve decided I’m not sharing because it’s just gone haywire. There’s so much going on, and so it doesn’t make sense to continue to talk about it. He’s either going to play or he’s not.”

Kerr is likely annoyed about the multitude of conflicting reports on when Durant will return for the NBA Finals.

The day after Game 1, Yahoo Sports reported that the Warriors expected Durant back in either Game 3 or Game 4, but a team source told The Chronicle’s Connor Letourneau that while the team is optimistic Durant returns, they have “no idea” which game he’ll be back.

Durant himself hasn’t said anything publicly about the timeline of his recovery, but has continued to receive treatment on his calf, and traveled with the team to Toronto for Games 1 and 2.

Because Kerr will no longer be giving updates on anything other than Durant’s game status, here’s a timeline of everything Kerr has said about Durant’s injury since the start of the Finals.
