Joel Embiid scores 33 as 76ers take series lead

Joel Embiid scored 33 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to lead the 76ers to a 116-95 victory over Toronto in Philadelphia on Thursday night as the Sixers took a 2-1 lead in the Eastern Conference semifinal series.

Embiid made the game his own in the third quarter and helped the Sixers put away a Toronto team badly overmatched. outside of Kawhi Leonard’s performance (33 points).

Jimmy Butler scored 22 for Philadelphia.

Ainge stricken: Celtics President Danny Ainge had a mild heart attack and is expected to fully recover. The 60-year-old executive received immediate medical attention Tuesday night in Milwaukee, the team said in a statement Thursday. Ainge also had a mild heart attack in 2009.
