Kevin Durant,

Draymond Green

The former teammates were once again on the same court Thursday, and all was good when they visited the U.S. national team practice in El Segundo (Los Angeles County). Durant, who opted to leave for Brooklyn after three seasons (and two championships) with the Warriors, milled about and addressed players who will be leading the Americans at the World Cup in China. Durant, who was wearing a brace after Achilles surgery that will keep him out of the upcoming season, was the MVP of the 2010 World Cup gold-medal run for the U.S. Green, the Warriors forward who just re-upped with Golden State on a $100 million, four-year deal, exchanged a warm hug with his Warriors coach and U.S. assistant, Steve Kerr. The day before, in an interview with ESPN’s Rachel Nichols, Green said of Durant, “I actually talked to K yesterday. That’s my brother.” When Nichols asked if he spoke with Durant before Durant signed with the Nets, he offered up a bizarre analogy: “I’m not about to go to Kevin Durant and say, ‘Hey Kevin, can I get my fiancee pregnant?’ It’s my life. Am I supposed to come to you and A: Let you know that that’s what I want to do or B: Ask you for permission? No. So I found out when everyone else found out which is exactly how it should be.”
