Golden State Warriors star Kevin Durant frequently responds to fan criticism on social media, so it’s probably for the best he read one particularly egregious tweet in a controlled setting with other people around.
After Game 1 of the NBA Finals Thursday night, ABC’s “Jimmy Kimmel Live” aired another version of its infamous “Mean Tweets” segment with Durant serving as the opening act.
Among other things, Durant was called “twig boy” and a “candy a—.”
“That’s a lot,” Durant said with a smile after reading the tweet.

A couple of Durant’s Finals opponents were also forced to read some brutal fan tweets about themselves.
“Toronto needs to get rid of Kyle Lowry ASAPPPPPP,” Kyle Lowry read. “If I have to watch that fat f— attempt to take a 3 one more time I’m jumping off a building.”
“Danny Green and I have a lot in common, namely that we both f—ing suck at basketball,” read Danny Green.
Noted Warriors critic Charles Barkley also got a bad one.
“Charles Barkley is so fat he puts his belt on with a boomerang,” the TNT analyst read. “That’s not funny at all.”
Other highlights include former Raptors and Heat star Chris Bosh getting told he talks like “a white guy named Denis,” and Robin and Brook Lopez being forced answer why Robin is the only twin that “sucks a–.”
