Warriors big man Kevon Looney ought to be celebrating his recent 3-year, $15 million extension. Drafted with the last pick of the first round in 2015, Looney suffered a number of hip injuries in the early years of his career. That he’s managed to earn a second contract worth many millions of dollars despite his draft position and injury history qualifies as a major success story.
Appropriately, a nightclub called ELMNT (pronounced Element) Lounge in Milwaukee is hosting “Kevon Looney’s Signing Party” on Saturday, August 10. Tickets run from $50 for “VIPs” to $500 for a “Section Reservation,” which “gets you 4 ppl and 1 bottle,” according to the Eventbrite page. (Women can attend for free if they show up before 10:30 p.m).
Looney, who attended Alexander Hamilton High in Milwaukee, will be accompanied by hosts Bernice Burgos and Dream Doll, who have 5.4 million and 2.2 million Instagram followers, respectively. DJ Nu Stylez and DJ Breezy will be providing musical entertainment.
The dress code is “casual drip,” the promotional graphic notes, and will last until 2:30 a.m.
SFGATE reached out to ELMNT for further detail, but did not hear back before the story published.
