The Warriors are bringing back versatile big man Kevon Looney on a three-year, $15 million contract, according to multiple reports.
ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski and The Athletic’s Shams Charania first reported the news.
Looney started 24 of the 80 regular-season games he played in last season and averaged a career-best 6.3 points and 5.2 rebounds per game.
The center played through a 1st costal cartilage non-displaced fracture during the NBA Finals, and reportedly had interest from the Houston Rockets and Chicago Bulls in recent days.
He and Damian Jones are the only two centers on the Warriors’ roster as of now.
Jones started over Looney at the beginning of last season before suffering a pectoral injury that kept him out until late in the postseason, where he played sparingly.
