Two popular drive-time radio personalities have disappeared from the airwaves after being cut at Q102.1.
“A Big Thank You To all who always show @ChuyGomez and I Love, We Appreciate You!” Zaragoza wrote on Twitter.
“Thank you for all the support, we gonna keep on pushing!” Gomez added on his Twitter account.
Longtime Bay Area residents will be particularly well-acquainted with Gomez (or, at the very least, his voice). For 20 years, he worked at KMEL as the Morning Drive host.
As of Sunday morning, the social media pages of Q102.1 were flooded with comments protesting the moves.
“I guess I’m deleting my q102 app,” wrote one fan.
“Big mistake! It’s not the same without @chuygomez @bigdaddyzaragoza,” wrote another. “Chuy Gomez got me through my Sunday night and every morning big daddy victor got me through my rough afternoons! So sad to see them go!”
Q102.1 is owned by Entercom.
