Women’s History Month as a national celebration dates back to 1981 when Congress passed a Public Law that authorized the president to declare the week starting March 7 as Women’s History Week.
Throughout the years, celebrations have taken place across the county and women continue to be memorialized for their accomplishments.
In honor of Women’s History Month, Lyft is taking it upon themselves to help educate the public about women’s accomplishment in their city. How they’re doing it? The ride-sharing service is offering a 10 percent discount to places that commemorate women’s contribution, and to select women-owned businesses.
