One of the most powerful men in American motor sports will be awarded a Presidential Medal of Freedom. “He’s very deserving. He’s a great gentleman,” President Trump said. Penske visited the White House twice recently to celebrate his record 18th victory as a car owner at the Indianapolis 500 with driver Simon Pagenaud, and to honor Joey Logano’s NASCAR championship. “I am humbled by the president’s acknowledgment of our achievements in business, in motor sports and in our community,” Penske said.
The New England Patriots’ owner accepted Israel’s Genesis Prize at a lavish ceremony in Jerusalem, where he pledged $20 million to establish a foundation dedicated to combatting anti-Semitism and the Palestinian-led boycott movement against Israel. Kraft told the audience “I believe we can use this platform of social media to make a genuine and lasting impact on the rising tide of hate,” he said, “especially against our people.”
