A group of protestors have blocked the parade route at the 2019 San Francisco Pride Parade.
The group, who appear chained together with rainbow tubes covering what links their arms, are protesting corporate involvement in the parade.
The parade is currently backing up behind the protestors, who are now lying down across Market Street near 6th Street. Police appear to have arrested at least one of the individuals involved with the protest.
In a video taken by the San Francisco Chronicle, the protestors can be heard chanting “Stonewall was a riot” in reference to the 1969 Stonewall Riots in New York City that are considered the beginning of the modern gay rights movement.
We will update this story as details emerge.
