Sabrina Ionescu leads way as Oregon beats Arizona in Pac-12 tournament

Sabrina Ionescu had 18 points, 13 assists and eight rebounds to lead sixth-ranked Oregon to a 77-63 win over Arizona in the quarterfinals of the Pac-12 tournament in Las Vegas on Friday.

“It might have been those first-game jitters,” Ionescu said of the Ducks’ uneven performance on offense. “We were super nervous. We’re excited to get out there and play.”

Ruthy Hebard had 21 points and 10 rebounds for Oregon (28-3), which will face UCLA in the semifinals Saturday.

Aari McDonald had 34 points for the Wildcats (18-13).

Washington 68, #11 Oregon State 67: Missy Peterson made a 3-pointer with two seconds left and the Huskies (11-20) survived a technical foul afterward to stun the Beavers (24-7) and advance to a semifinal meeting with Stanford. OSU beat Washington by 11 and 47 points in two regular-season meetings.

#25 UCLA 73, #20 Arizona State 69: Japreece Dean scored 24 points, Michaela Onyenwere added 20 and Kennedy Burke had 15 as the Bruins (20-11) beat the Sun Devils (20-10) in the Pac-12 quarterfinals.

#3 Louisville 75, Clemson 67: Asia Durr scored 24 points and Dana Evans had seven of her 15 points during a fourth-quarter run that helped the second-seeded Cardinals (28-2) beat the Tigers (19-12) in the ACC quarterfinals at Greensboro, N.C.

#4 Notre Dame 95, North Carolina 77: In another ACC quarterfinal, Arike Ogunbowale scored 28 points, Brianna Turner had 24 points and 10 rebounds and Jackie Young added 19 points and nine assists to lead the Irish (28-3) past the Tar Heels (18-14).

#5 Mississippi State 83, Tennessee 68: Anriel Howard scored 26 points and Teaira McCowan had 17 points and 13 rebounds to lead the Bulldogs (28-2) past the Lady Vols (19-12) in the SEC tournament quarterfinals in Greenville, S.C.

#8 Maryland 71, Michigan State 55: In the Big Ten quarterfinals in Indianapolis, Kaila Charles scored 16 of her 21 points in the second half as the Terrapins (27-3) pulled away from the Spartans (20-11).

#9 North Carolina State 69, #22 Florida State 62: In the ACC quarterfinals, Elissa Cunane scored 22 points to pace the Wolfpack (26-4) against the Seminoles (23-8).

#10 Iowa 70, Indiana 61: Megan Gustafson had 30 points and 17 rebounds as the Hawkeyes (24-6) beat the Hoosiers (20-12) in the Big Ten quarterfinals.


#15 Virginia Tech 84, Miami 70: Nickeil Alexander-Walker had 21 points, 10 rebounds and eight assists as the host Hokies (23-7, 12-6 ACC) topped the Hurricanes (13-16, 5-13).

#19 Buffalo 84, Bowling Green 73: Nick Perkins scored 22 points as the host Bulls (28-3, 16-2 Mid-American) beat the Falcons (20-11, 12-6).

#24 Maryland 69, Minnesota 60: Anthony Cowan scored 21 points and Jalen Smith had 19 points and 11 rebounds to lead the host Terrapins (22-9, 13-7 Big Ten) past the Golden Gophers (19-12, 9-11).
