San Jose mother, 2 sons found dead in apparent murder-suicide, police say

Two children and a woman were found dead inside a San Jose apartment Wednesday afternoon in an apparent murder-suicide, according to police.

Officers responded to a call of a reported suicide on the 5300 block of Dent Avenue in San Jose at about 12:30 p.m. Inside the apartment, officers found the bodies of a woman, along with two young boys, ages 4 and 7, San Jose police said in a statement to SFGATE.

After an initial investigation, police announced that detectives were classifying the case as a murder-suicide, with no outstanding suspects. Detectives believe the woman killed her two sons before committing suicide, police said.

The names of the victims and suspect are being held until their next of kin is notified. Anyone with information is asked to call the San Jose Police Department’s homicide unit at (408) 277-5283.
